ANTI-DRUG USE 
PRO-LEGALIZATION OF DRUGS:

I DO NOT DO DRUGS!!!  Though everyone thinks I do 
drugs, and everyone who I hang out with does drugs, I DO NOT DO 
DRUGS!  I am constantly asked if I do drugs.  And one of my 
friends the other day asked me if I wanted to buy some fry from 
him.  And I said, "Justin, do you know me, don't you know about me?
  I DO NOT DO DRUGS!"  And this guy is one of my FRIENDS.  He should 
know this already.  So I am one of the only people I know that does 
not do drugs.  (My pal Paige is the only other one of my friends that
 I can name at this time that does not do drugs, or has never done 
drugs.)  Everyone at my school (and every teenager in the world) does
 drugs, even the people who  you think don't do them.  But not me.  
I'm the one original in the pack.  Now I've smoked a couple of 
cigarettes, and I decided it wasn't for me.  It was utterly disgusting.
  I'd go outside at night so my parents wouldn't find out, and I'd come
 back inside having to change my clothes, wash my hands, brush my teeth,
 or even take a bath.  And even then I couldn't stand the awful taste 
in my mouth.  After one single cigarette.  So I wonder what is the 
point.  All you're doing by smoking is giving companies that already
 have loads of money--and whose sole purpose is to hook you, take all 
your money, kill you, and go and try to hook someone else--more money.  
You're killing yourself and making tabacco companies--who know it's 
going to kill you and don't care--more rich than they have the moral 
right to be.  And yet millions of teenagers get caught in this tabacco 
trap every year.  But onto more severe and illegal drugs.  Pot, why?  
I do not want to alter my perception in any way, I have no reason to.
  And never under any circumstances do I want to lose control over my 
actions (this goes for alcohol as well).  And there is nothing missing 
in my life that could be replaced with a drug like pot.  I'm a happy 
person, and I don't need drugs to feel good or have a good time.  So I 
have made the decision (and I tell you it wasn't a hard one to make) 
to stay clear of drugs.  And yet (what a paradox) I think that all drugs
 should be legalized.  Marijuana should be--if not for any other reason
-- because it could be a huge resource.  We cut down so many trees, and 
soon what will we be left with?  Barrenness and desert, and that ain't a
 good thing, folks.  And hemp can be made into paper, replacing the need
 for tree pulp.  It can also be made into rope and clothing and God 
knows what else.  We've got this great resource in the palm of our hand
 and we refuse to use it.  But I really think that drugs should be 
legalized because everyone deserves the right to do drugs if they're are
 blind enough to do so.  This is a free country afterall.  And everyone 
does drugs besides the fact it's illegal.  No laws are keeping all my 
classmates from having ample supplies of any drug they prefer at all times
 (money maybe, but not laws).  And some people (most teens) do drugs just 
BECAUSE it is illegal, just to rebel.  And hey, if we legalize drugs, 
just image all the money we'll get from taxes.  Millions, my friends.  
So why try and keep people from doing drugs when not only do they have 
the right, but also when they do it anyway.  We're wasting our time.  
The prisons are overflowing with drug users.  And they shouldn't be.  But
 the main point is:  Even though you deserve the right, don't do drugs, 
kiddies;  they're bad for you!
